At MD&M West 2026, Covestro will highlight “The Material Effect” – a powerful combination of materials science, process and application development that drives true breakthroughs. This approach enables customers and partners to achieve more in sustainability, circularity and performance of their life-enhancing solutions. Covestro will highlight these solutions for healthcare and life science applications at booth #2439 at MD&M West, February 3-5 in Anaheim, Calif.

Korion Health's SoundHeart™ electronic stethoscope: This in-home electronic stethoscope expands access to heart and lung screenings. Built with Makrolon® 2458 polycarbonate to meet engineering, compatibility and regulatory requirements.

MonuMedical's EZfuser™ non-electric infusion system: The first wearable, compact, disposable infusion device engineered with medical-grade Makrolon® polycarbonate for medication delivery in out-of-hospital care settings.

Dureflex® MA5000 thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) film on paper carrier: A high-temperature stable carrier to ensure reliable converting, consistent performance, and improved manufacturing efficiency designed specifically for high-performance medical applications.

High-Impact TPU films for smart sensing: Durable wearable devices engineered with Platilon® TPU flexible films that maintain optimal performance throughout extensive stretch-flex cycling.

In addition, visitors will experience a variety of the company’s advanced materials firsthand, including:

Polycarbonate resins and blends: Covestro’s medical grade materials including, Makrolon®, Bayblend®, Apec® and Makroblend® deliver exceptional strength and durability for many applications, and have been used in drug delivery devices, respiratory applications, medical device housings and more.

Polyurethane (PU) raw materials and adhesives: Baymedix® PU based adhesive and foam components offer excellent breathability, excellent absorption and low trauma removal. For wearable applications, these create films, adhesives, and thermoformable foams for low profile electronic embedding. Baymedix materials are used in medical sealants and coatings as well.

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) resins: Texin® Rx TPU resins offer flexibility and strength, which are required for applications such as medical tubing and dental applications, resistant to cleaning agents and bacteria.

Films: Dureflex® and Platilon® TPU films are breathable, elastic, and skin-friendly for wound care, smart patches, and wearables. Bayfol® TPU/PETG bi-layer films and Makrofol® PC films are utilized in medical packaging, with Makrofol® PC also offering excellent performance in steam sterilization.
