Innovative Material Solutions for the Healthcare Market
At this year’s COMPAMED – the world’s leading trade fair for medical suppliers and product development – ALBIS will demonstrate its comprehensive expertise in the healthcare sector. From November 17 to 20 in Düsseldorf, Hall 8A, Booth K04, the Hamburg-based distributor will present a broad portfolio of medical-grade plastics as well as new materials and applications for the industry.

At the center of ALBIS’s presentation are solutions designed to meet the growing demands for safety, sustainability, and performance in healthcare. The company will highlight its strong capabilities across the value chain – from material selection and evaluation to application-specific consulting and support on regulatory issues. Key focus areas include Biopharma, Diabetes Care, Diagnostics, Drug Delivery, Housings, and Surgical Instruments & Robotics.
New materials for medical devices
A highlight at the ALBIS booth will be the new polypropylene compound Alcom® MED PP FR from MOCOM. This glass fiber–reinforced material was developed specifically for applications requiring high levels of flame retardancy and resistance to disinfectants. The halogen- and PFAS-free formulation not only complies with current regulatory requirements but also anticipates future standards – contributing to greater safety and sustainability.
Combining mechanical strength, biocompatibility and chemical resistance, Alcom® MED PP FR is particularly suitable for demanding housing applications – ranging from anesthesia and ventilation systems to mobile ultrasound and analytical devices, as well as homecare solutions such as sleep therapy systems. ALBIS supported an international life-science manufacturer in developing an innovative breath analysis device in which the new compound is being used for the first time.
Additional product highlights in the ALBIS portfolio include:

For the first time at COMPAMED, ALBIS will also showcase Arkema’s medical-grade polymer portfolio – marking an important milestone in their cooperation established about a year ago. These high-quality polymers meet the strict requirements of USP Class VI and ISO 10993 and provide reliable solutions for critical applications such as respiratory masks, connectors, catheters, IV bags and hearing aids.
