Precision Tubing and Wire

Unimed’s quality stainless steel tubing and wire products offer a combination of desirable characteristics:

• dimensional accuracy
• clean and smooth surface quality
• corrosion resistant
• heat resistance
• excellent tensile properties
• good machinability

All standard tubing is welded and cold drawn. Welded tubes have similar mechanical strengths to seamless tubing, but generally offer:

• superior concentricity of OD and ID
• superior straightness
• lower ID roughness
• availability in a much larger range of OD/D dimensions
• lower cost and shorter delivery times

Welded tubing originates from sheet material that is formed into its round shape and welded. The tubes are redrawn to obtain the desired dimensions and temper. This makes the weld practically homogeneous and difficult to differentiate from seamless tubing.
